The image quality in a planetarium is only as its projection screen. The dome screen should provide a uniform surface without visible seams, paint splotches, or color variations. Spitz domes are superior due to their unique powder coat screen surface. Spitz¡¯ proprietary powder coating technique provides a surface uniform in color and reflectivity formulations unobtainable by other means.
The world¡¯s leading supplier of planetariums and dome theaters with over 1,200 sites worldwide, Spitz Inc has the experience, knowledge and skill required to engineer complete planetarium theaters. Providing single-source solutions is central to the Spitz mission. We believe the key to successful projects is our focus on the customer experience - from initial design through final installation. |

The RoDo rotating dome features a patented tilting mechanism that lowers a 27 meter diameter dome screen into position for projection of hemispheric large-format movies. When the dome is raised, a flat screen is revealed for projection of large-format 2-D or 3-D movies. When the dome is lowered, the immersive experience of a large-format dome film becomes the feature. RoDo theaters include the Barcelona Port Vell Imax, Madrid's Teatromax Theater and the Berlin Potsdammer Platz Imax Theater. |
